En septembre 2015, les Nations Unies ont fixé comme objectifs prioritaires « d’éliminer la faim, assurer la sécurité alimentaire, améliorer la nutrition et promouvoir l’agriculture durable. » Ces défis peuvent sembler difficiles à relever dans un monde traversé par une série de crises géopolitiques, sanitaires, climatiques, économiques et sociales. Une mobilisation forte est plus que jamais nécessaire.

La Fondation FARM vous donne rendez-vous à l’OCDE (Paris) le 17 janvier 2023 pour une grande conférence d’une journée réunissant tous les acteurs – politiques, chercheurs, financeurs, agriculteurs, étudiants, citoyens… –  qui souhaitent apporter leurs contributions aux transformations indispensables des agricultures et des systèmes alimentaires. 

Interroger, intensifier, entreprendre, mobiliser

Projetons-nous vers 2030 et mobilisons nos énergies et nos compétences afin de donner un nouvel élan aux agricultures et aux ruralités.

LE PROGRAMME

9h30 : OUVERTURE

Avec la présence de Marc FESNEAU (Ministre de l’Agriculture et de la Souveraineté alimentaire), de Pascal LHEUREUX (Agriculteur, Président de la Fondation FARM) et de Kako NUBUKPO (Commissaire à l’agriculture de l’UEMOA).

10h – 1ère séquence : INTERROGER

Le monde en 2030 nous interroge : ses dynamiques (démographie, urbanisation et ruralités, etc.), ses mutations (climat, insécurités géopolitiques et géoéconomiques, etc.) et ses opportunités (transformation, emplois, etc.). Quels seront les impacts sur les filières agricoles et alimentaires ?

Cette table ronde est modérée par Matthieu BRUN (Directeur scientifique de la Fondation FARM).

11h30 – 2ème séquence : INTENSIFIER

L’intensification écologique de la production et la hausse de la productivité sont des premières étapes nécessaires mais insuffisantes pour faire face aux multi-crises. Il faut aussi intensifier la coopération entre les acteurs.

12h30-14h : Pause déjeuner

14h – 3ème séquence : ENTREPRENDRE

La transformation de l’agriculture et de l’alimentation dans le monde ne pourra se faire sans une mobilisation des acteurs privés, entrepreneurs et entrepreneuses. Le focus choisi est celui du digital, avec des exemples illustrant comment l’utilisation des nouvelles technologies peut participer à la transformation des systèmes agricoles.

15h – 4ème séquence : MOBILISER

De nombreux agriculteurs et agricultrices n’ont toujours pas accès au financement, aux services bancaires et agricoles. La guerre en Ukraine et ses conséquences économiques n’ont fait qu’aggraver la situation. Dans ce contexte, l’investissement privé et public ainsi que la définition et la mise en œuvre de politiques publiques cohérentes pour la transformation des agricultures sont donc essentiels.

Introduction sur l’Observatoire des soutiens publics à l’agriculture de Matthieu BRUN (Directeur scientifique de la Fondation FARM).

16h30 : CONCLUSION

Avec la plaidoirie d’un groupe d’étudiants de l’IEDES-Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (parcours « Développement agricole et politiques économiques » du Master Etudes du développement) et le témoignage de Laure TALL (Directrice de recherche à l’IPAR – Sénégal) et de Catherine MIGAULT (directrice de la Fondation FARM)

L’ensemble de cette journée sera animée par Capucine GRABY (Journaliste).

In September 2015, the United Nations set the priority goals of “eradicating hunger, achieving food security, improving nutrition and promoting sustainable agriculture.” These challenges may seem difficult to meet in a world beset by a series of geopolitical, health, climate, economic and social crises. Strong mobilization is now more important than ever.

The FARM Foundation invites you to meet at the OECD (Paris) on 17 January 2023 for a major one-day conference bringing together all the players – politicians, researchers, funders, farmers, students, citizens, etc. – who wish to make their contributions to the essential transformation of agriculture and food systems. 

Questioning, intensifying, undertaking, mobilising

Let us look ahead to 2030 and mobilise our energies and skills to give agricultures and ruralities a new impetus.

THE PROGRAMME

9.30 am: OPENING

With the presence of Marc FESNEAU (Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty), Pascal LHEUREUX (Farmer, President of the FARM Foundation) and Kako NUBUKPO (WAEMU Commissioner for Agriculture).

10 a.m. – 1st sequence: QUESTIONING

The world in 2030 raises questions: its dynamics (demography, urbanisation and rurality, etc.), its changes (climate, geopolitical and geo-economic insecurities, etc.) and its opportunities (transformation, jobs, etc.). What will be the impacts on the agricultural and food sectors?

The ecological intensification of production and the increase in productivity are necessary but insufficient first steps to deal with multi-crisis situations. There is also a need to intensify cooperation between actors.

14:00 – 3rd sequence: UNDERTAKING

Global transformation of agriculture and food will not be possible without the mobilization of private actors and entrepreneurs. With a focus on digital innovations, the goal of this session is to illustrate how the use of new technologies can contribute to the transformation of agricultural systems.

15:00 – 4th sequence: MOBILISING

Many farmers still lack access to finance, banking and agricultural services. The war in Ukraine and its economic consequences have aggravated the situation. In this context, private and public investment as well as the definition and implementation of coherent public policies for the transformation of agriculture are essential.

With a presentation by a group of students from IEDES-University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (“Agricultural development and economic policies” course of the Master’s degree in Development Studies) and the testimony of Laure TALL (Research Director at IPAR – Senegal) and Catherine MIGAULT (Director of the FARM Foundation).

The whole day will be facilitated by Capucine GRABY (Journalist).
