FARM meets... Episode 3: Food sovereignty in West Africa
In this latest episode in partnership with Afdi, Mamadou Cissokho develops his vision of food sovereignty based on a West African adage: "The stomach cannot be trusted."
Through this expression, he explains that every individual, family, group and nation has the responsibility to ensure their own food security.
Mr. Cissokho shared his vision for an organized and united West African agriculture. His testimony illustrates the importance of "co-construction" of policies and strategies between all stakeholders in agricultural development. This family farming, which draws on traditional knowledge while remaining open to innovation, contributes every day to feeding local populations.
FARM thanks Mamadou Cissokho and Afdi for this partnership.
