Food Crisis: Hope for the Hungry? - France Culture

On August 2, 2022, Matthieu Brun, Scientific Director of the FARM Foundation, was a guest with Olivier de Schutter (UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights and Extreme Poverty) on France Culture's Matins to analyze the prospects for markets and global food security of the evacuation of Ukrainian grain.

 "This is a very positive signal for countries suffering from severe food insecurity, such as Egypt and particularly Lebanon, where this first boat is heading. However, we should not forget that the conflict continues and that the challenges remain significant.", reports Matthieu Brun before recalling that the crisis in Ukraine is a sad accelerator of deeper trends which penalize the food security of many countries, particularly in Africa.
