FARM meets... Episode 2: The importance of international cooperation between farmers

In this second episode in partnership with Afdi, FARM continues its meeting with Mamadou Cissokho, a family agropastoralist for 47 years in Bemba in the Tambacounda region.

After discussing his involvement with the CNCR in the first episode, he now shares his vision on the importance of exchanges between farmers.

"In Senegal, we have always believed that all farmers in the world are the same. They are all aware of their mission to produce for human consumption," he explains. These exchanges between farmers have become essential for sharing knowledge, successful experiences, and best practices in agriculture and the sustainable management of natural resources.

Mamadou Cissokho also discusses the progress made over the past 20 years in relations between farmers' organizations and governments, while highlighting persistent disagreements. To gain more influence in political decisions, he emphasizes collective organization.

In the next episode, Mr. Cissokho will share his vision for food sovereignty for West Africa.
