The FARM Foundation will be at the 2025 International Agricultural Show: three events not to be missed<\/strong> !<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The FARM Foundation invites you to the International Agricultural Show on February 24, 25 and 26, 2025, for three events on: adaptation to climate change in the Mediterranean, the development of dairy sectors and soil health in Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monday, February 24 \u2013 AACC-Med project round table: Adapting to climate change: how to support the transformation of food systems in the Mediterranean? <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The Foundation for Agriculture and Rurality in the World (FARM) organizes a round table<\/strong> entitled: "\u00a0Adapting to climate change: how to support transformations in food systems in the Mediterranean?<\/em>\u00a0" as part of the project Adaptation of agriculture to climate change in the Mediterranean (AACC-Med) on Monday, February 24, 2025<\/strong> from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Paris International Agricultural Show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mediterranean is warming 20% faster<\/strong> than the rest of the world, as illustrated by the prolonged droughts, heatwaves and floods of 2022-2023. Faced with this reality that transcends borders, Mediterranean cooperation is necessary to pool resources and build a shared adaptation strategy. This round table will be an opportunity to discuss adaptation issues, support and financing needs and initiatives, and prospects for inter-shore cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday, February 25 \u2013 Debate: Strengthening African dairy sectors: support expected from public-private cooperation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Foundation for Agriculture and Rurality in the World (FARM), French Farmers and International Development (AFDI) and the Center for International Cooperation in Agricultural Research for Development (CIRAD) are jointly organizing a debate on the development of African dairy sectors on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 <\/strong>from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Paris International Agricultural Show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event, hosted on the stand of the CNIEL<\/strong>, will present a position paper\/document entitled: \u201cStrengthening African dairy sectors \u2013 The expected support of public-private cooperation\u201d led by Afdi and the FARM Foundation, with the collaboration of CIRAD researchers, Jean-Daniel C\u00e9saro and Christian Corniaux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a context where demand for African dairy products is expected to double by 2050, discussions will address the challenges linked to the development of local sectors as well as opportunities for collaboration between African and European stakeholders in favor of a sustainable dairy sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The debate will focus on issues facing African dairy sectors, such as the development of collection infrastructure, the promotion of local products, and the role of cooperatives. Recommendations will also be made to support local production, adapt European trade and agricultural policies, and promote responsible investment in this area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Foundation for Agriculture and Rurality in the World (FARM), co-organizes with the French Development Agency (AFD) and the Center for International Cooperation in Agricultural Research for Development (CIRAD) a side event entitled: "\u00a0From Fertilization to Soil Fertility: A Key Challenge for Soil Health and Food Sovereignty in Africa<\/em>\u00a0" THE Wednesday, February 26, 2025 <\/strong>from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Paris International Agricultural Show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This side event will reposition soil health as a key issue for sustainable development, highlighting its central role for food sovereignty in Africa. Drawing on the FARM Foundation's study on soil fertility renewal in West Africa, it will highlight the need for integrated fertility management by combining, where necessary, organo-mineral fertilization and agroecological practices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Africa, it will explore the prospects for managing soil organic matter and providing the nutrients essential for agricultural production that respects soil health, the environment and human well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
